Mod Podge Bulletin Board

About a month ago hubby requested that we put up some sort of bulletin board in our office, so that we could better coordinate our schedules/activities. He's been busy going out on all sort of auditions (he just got a lead part in a community theater holiday production!) and I'm frequently running around for this and that...since we share a car, there needs to be some sort of coordination!

I didn't want to put up a plain, boring bulletin board...so I decided to spruce one up a bit with paper napkins and mod podge!

I picked out this napkin (that I bought at Target) and laid out my pattern. I chose a heavier-weight napkin for this project...it was easier to work with. I also liked that this napkin had a border that I could use at the top and bottom.

Once I had my napkins cut I used a brush to apply mod podge to the bulletin board. I did one small section at a time. Once the napkin was lined up properly, I applied another light coat of mod podge over the napkin. Don't be too alarmed that it will bubble a bit...things generally flatten just fine once the mod podge dries. I would advise a heavier coat of  mod podge underneath the napkin, but just a light coat on top.

Let the project dry for 24 hours and then apply another light coat of mod podge.  Again dry for 24 hours. Now you have a fancy bulletin board that might be too pretty to stick  tacks in!
